This thing can definitely help identify mountains IF you ready know at least one of the peaks in the range to use as a reference. If I point this at the peak I know best, its actually way off to the right and so the function of pointing it at a peak is useless. Would love to see an update to fix this or a refund.

Just downloaded and tested for Swiss Alps - Disappointing - not working - should have been indicated!

I dreamed of such a resource long before smartphones. This is intuitive, comprehensive, and works without internet (after downloading the data for a particular region). I love it, thank you!

This is NOT what I expected - one would expect to aim your camera/phone at the mountains - have it align with the database - and then tell me the name of the mountain - NOT. It came to the US with a database of the Alps - what good does that do? Then when I added the location services, it wouldnt load. I am very disappointed. Actually, Id like my money back.

Used the earlier Apps that were separate, much nicer to have all in one. Location finder quick and accurate. I tend to use the compass view to ensure Im turned the right way, the reading of direction is often off.

It won even download the data base. This is a waste of money.. i want mine back.. Robbery to charge for this... addendum 1-6-14... it finally downloaded! not sure if its better than the free version.. but it works

This app is phenomenal! The UI, data accuracy, and just genuine usefulness make this a gem. Absolutely worth the asking price.

If you have anything to do with mountains at all, get this app!

Some days you spend $4 on a mediocre beer at the ski lodge. Other days you spend $4 on the coolest app ever and turn every lift ride into a sightseeing adventure. This app is rad.

I didnt have any expectations other than needing an app to show me names of what I was looking at. Works well. Quick.

Absolutely love this app. A must to own if you like mountains. Download the coverage map(s) for the area you are interested in before you leave home; its a one-time thing.

I have really enjoyed this app. It does what it is supposed to very well with little fuss. The negative reviews seem to be be complaining due to technical issues with download (which can be big) or expectations for a camera match. This does not include the camera, but I have found it accurate and easy to use. The database downloads when you visit a new area can take a while - but no problems once you do that.

Yeah this one is a winner. It gives you a nice detailed line drawing with all the peaks named. Very stylishly done and it looks like what you are looking at. You dont need the augmented reality crap. This is the one.

Has to be seen to be believed. Really like this.
